FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE

This entry-level role encompasses all reception related activities at the MakerLabs front desk. We're looking for someone to support the day to day operations of the space and its teams, including shipping and receiving, client communication, tool lending, and customer service on a part-time basis working 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday and Wednesdays, and Noon to 5pm on Saturdays. Although there will be a set schedule for this role, schedules my change on occasion based on activities that may be happening in the building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries

    • Know all of MakerLabs' policies and procedures

    • Process payments related to membership, fabrication, rentals, orientations, and materials

    • Process shipping and receiving (lift up to 40lbs)

    • Coordinate tool checkouts

    • Assist Community Team with daily tasks

    • Assist members with troubleshooting the laser cutter and answer basic digital fabrication questions

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Evening & Weekend Availability

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Basic Computer Skills (minimum typing speed of 40wpm)

    • Basic Math Skills

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

    • Must have proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    • A passion for making and maker culture
