FACILITIES CO-ORDINATOR
MakerLabs is seeking a part-time Facilities Co-ordinator to join our team. Duties in this role include completing scheduled maintenance and repairs on tools, cleaning, maintaining, and upgrading our spaces (including janitorial duties and pest control), and handling inventory. The person in this role would also be required to learn basic tasks at the front desk, for occasional coverage.
The ideal candidate would bring their own experience to the team while growing and strengthening the overall vision of MakerLabs.
Under the direction of the General Manager, the facilities coordinator will also cover performing routine maintenance on tools and repairing tools as needed. A knowledge of, and/or experience with common woodworking and metalworking tools is preferred. Candidates must have a willingness to learn and independently problem solve. Some electrical knowledge is required for this role.
We encourage staff to develop and work on passion projects with the tools that they have access to.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain the organization and availability of the Labs and its tools
· Repair broken tools
· Janitorial duties (including pest control)
· Process shipping and receiving (lift up to 40lbs)
· Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed
· Co-ordinate shipping and receiving, storage, and waste stream services
Minimum Qualifications:
· 9am to 6pm availability, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday
· Computer literate, can adapt to new software systems quickly
· Minimum typing speed of 40wpm
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
· Proven ability to stay calm in stressful situations
· Must be self-motivated, a fast learner who takes initiative
· Able to work independently; must have excellent time management and communication skills.
· Eager and willing to add to one’s knowledge base and skills.
· Knowledge of Woodworking / Metalworking tools
· Basic electrical knowledge
· Possess a constant desire to improve, and optimize everything
· Strong sense of situational awareness
· Ability to be flexible and work in a team.

Job Type: Part time, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 9am to 6pm
